Requirements
Exhibitors may enter photos in any of the following categories. There is a limit of 8 photos, total, per person. All pictures must be mounted, not framed and have a title. There will be separate judging for entries submitted by those under 16. Over 16 are considered to be adults. Pictures may be in black and white or color.

Registration:
The photography department is located on the second floor of the Fair Hall. 
Times for entering are Friday 5:30 - 8:30pm and Saturday 8:30 to 10:30am.
All entries will be hung on the wall or placed in display cases.

The Haddam Neck Fair will make every effort to care for all entries, but cannot be held responsible for damage or loss.

Prizes:
Awards for each category are as follows:
1st $5.00    2nd $3.00    3rd $2.00    Honorable Mention $1.00

There will be a Best of Show award of $5.00 in both the adult and under 16 groups.


Photo Contest  Association of Connecticut Fairs

The Haddam Neck Fair Photo Contest adheres to the rules of the Annual Photo Contest of the Association of Connecticut Fairs which will again have as its theme "Connecticut Fairs." The pictures submitted should show general scenes around our Fairgrounds. Photos must have been taken after September 30, 2007. The photos entered in the State Contest do not have to be exhibited at the Member Fairs to be eligible.

GENERAL RULES
 
1. Official Entry Blanks are printed in the Association of Connecticut Fairs booklet, Connecticut Fairs - 2008, “The State Fairbook,” from the website www.ctfairs.org. or are available from the secretary.
2. This contest is open to all persons regardless of age. Professional photographers however, (those who make their living from taking photographs), cannot enter. Photos must have been taken by the entrant.
3. There will be no entry fee to enter the State Contest, and the Association is not responsible for lost or damaged photos.
4. The theme of the State Contest shall be "Connecticut Fairs."
5. The exhibitor's name and address must appear on the reverse side of each photo submitted.
6. The date and name of the Fair at which the photograph was taken must appear on the reverse side of each photo submitted.
7. Each Exhibitor may enter a maximum of two (2) photos in each lot.
    Lot 1. Black and White Salon Prints
    Lot 2. Color Salon Prints
    Lot 3. Black and White Snapshots
    Lot 4. Color Snapshots
    Lot 5. Color Snapshot, Digital
    Lot 6. Junior Black and White Snapshots
    Lot 7. Junior Color Snapshots
8. Salon Print Exhibitors cannot enter Snapshot or Digital Contests.
9. In the event that less than ten (10) prints or snapshots are entered in either the Black and White or Color Lots, the two lots will be combined and only one set of awards will be made. Awards will be given at the Judges discretion if the number of entries do not justify the five (5) awards.
10. All entries should be submitted no later than October 5, 2008, to the Fair Secretary, or directly to the Association of CT Fairs as described in the State Fairbook.
11. Awards will be made at the Annual Fall meeting. All entries become property of The Association of Connecticut Fairs.
12. The Association reserves the right to reproduce entries in all categories for publicity purposes with the photographers by-line. One photo may be chosen to appear on the cover of the “Connecticut Fairs” 2009 booklet from the previously judged prize winners. The winner will be awarded one 2009 season pass.
13. A photo contest will be held at the fall meeting of the Association of Connecticut Fairs. Each registered meeting attendee will vote on the previously judged entries to determine the winners.
