Also may use black and white to outline and accent work. Class 13 Haddam Neck Fair Quilt Contest a. Group quilts, judged on design & color, embroidered, pieced, appliqued, tied or quilted b. Pieced and hand quilted c. Appliqued and hand quilted d. Embroidered and hand quilted e. Machine quilted - pieced, appliqued or embroidered f. Tied quilts - pieced and appliqued or embroidered – may use printed pattern g. Hand quilted on a printed pattern. Connecticut State Quilt Contest The following rules apply to any quilts which are to qualify for the State Quilt Contest, which takes place at the Spring meeting of the Association of Connecticut Fairs. CATEGORIES: 1. Hand Applique 2. Patchwork. (Tied quilts and Pre-cut Quilt Kits do not qualify) 1. All work must be accomplished by an individual quilt maker. 2. Work can be pieced by hand or by machine, but applique and quilting must be done by hand. 3. Work must be completed in 2007–2008. 4. Finished work must be at least single-bed sized. 5. Judging is based on the following: Overall appearance 15 points Difficulty of pattern 15 points Consistancy of stitches 10 points Matching points and corners 15 points Borders and bindings* 20 points * Even width – compliments rest of quilt Cleanliness of work 5 points Balance of material weight, color and pattern 20 points Total............................................................to 100 points |
